You were great last night! Your food was a huge hit which I'm sure you could tell from everyone taking second helpings from the buffet and take-home boxes. You shared your story of what you have been able to achieve with the support of La Cocina so eloquently, and I think it really made the incubator program come to life for our Board members and guests. Your professionalism and service were exemplary, and it was a delight to work with you. Judging by what you have achieved in your first year, I wouldn't be surprised if we held a dinner at Azalina's restaurant in the near future.

Azalina was wonderful to work with from start to finish. We asked her to cater our DIY wedding, (after tasting just one item at Off the Grid – the curry bomb – oh yes) and though it was her first, she agreed after one phone conversation. She was very excited about our vision of a communal meal and worked hard to come up with a menu that fit our needs – agreeing to work with some of our farmer friends and helping us to make it fit our budget through all sorts of creative thinking about serving dishes and staffing.
And that doesn’t even cover the food, which was out of this world. As many of our guests later said: that was the only wedding we’ve ever been to where the chef got a standing ovation. The food was exactly as we had imagined it, except more beautiful and hot and delicious. Sometimes food loses something when prepared in large quantities, but not Azalina’s. Not to mention that her Panang style of cuisine has a multitude of amazing vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options that require no retrofitting – which was a huge relief to us in our planning as we didn’t have to change a thing! On our menu to accommodate our guests with special dietary needs.
All in all, we can’t say enough good things about Azalina. Amazing cook, lovely person, organized and responsive. Thanks Azalina!
